The classic fairytale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarves has suddenly peaked in popularity. Word on the street is, there are a few projects lined up for different studios with some big names attached.
Negotiations are being made for Julia Roberts to play the evil queen in Relativity Media’s take on Snow White, which also has Tarsem Singh (director of The Cell and The Fall – both visually creative films) and a 3D tacked onto the end of the title.
Twilight‘s lead woman Kirsten Stewart, on the other hand, is set to play the apple chewing princess in Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Charlize Theron as the evil queen and Vigo Mortensen as the huntsman. And if you’re scratching your head thinking “What huntsman?”, I suggest you get the old Disney classic and have another look-see. Apparently, he’ll be playing a bigger role in Snow White’s fate in this upcoming feature and will no doubt be a little bit hotter.
And last but not least, Toy Story 3‘s Michael Arndt is currently on board Disney’s Snow White and the Seven. No, I haven’t left out ‘dwarves’ by accident… that’s actually what the title will be. I mean, it’s hard enough trying not to get confused when we’ve got to follow multiple Snow Whites and evil queens. Only time will tell who’s going to be the richest of them all. That… or a magic mirror that predicts box office stats of the future.
